What twentysomething doesn’t dream of spending every moment hanging out with the elderly at retirement homes?
My good friend Micah Gallagher and I – that’s who.
We made a short-documentary about the experience called Near Life Experience that received Runner-Up Best Documentary at the 168 film festival in Los Angeles. (Don’t ever run against a Holocaust documentary. You’ll lose every time).
In your 20’s there are so many questions about career, marriage, and faith, so what better way to write the beginning of our story than by looking at the end.
Watch Part One of Three of the short-film Near Life Experience below.
You’re going to want to watch until the end. A man named Candido describes his “dream” jobs that had an entire theater howling with laughter.
Ahhhh, Candido. What a guy!
I’ve watched this thing maybe 100 times and Candido still makes me laugh…
Paul I’m obsessed w/ the “hard times” dude … hahaha!!! There were literally 4 of us cracking up over his blank stare and your constant repeating of the words “hard times” … classic!!! 🙂
Yeah Jocelyn he was amazing as well. That’s an example of an interview not going quite as you planned but ending up better than you could’ve imagined.
Kind of like life…
“Me and him have the same foot doctor…and we found out how much he makes to clip our toenails…” Hahaha!
“There’s four things I wanted to be: a lawyer, a specialist, an engineer, a scientist, or a guy who fills up the gumball machines.” Love it!!!
Josh – Both those guys are back in the last part of this video and Candido says THE line of the film that will have you rolling.
